HISTORY OF THE ASSOCIATION

Wickham Community Association was first formed as a charity on 6th October 1984. The purpose, at that time, was to improve the conditions of the people of Wickham by building a new Community Centre on land donated by farmer Ralph Houghton. With the sale of the old village hall – The victory Hall in Bridge Street - and a lot of fund raising, the new Centre was built and opened to the public on 29th December 1988.
